I have enjoyed drawing since childhood. I spent my early years growing up in the Pacific Northwest, appreciating mountains, fertile valleys, and rocky coastlines. When I was twelve, my family moved to Kansas, where I learned to see the beauty in wheat fields and gently rolling hills. Upon completing my B.A. in 1975, I moved to northern B.C., again enjoying living in the mountains.
After my marriage to a pilot/aircraft engineer, I resided in a number of locations in Ontario, from Kenora, to Niagara Falls, to Moosonee, and several places in between! Wherever I have lived, I have been inspired by the beauty of my surroundings, and to marvel at the diversity in God's Creation. It was a natural progression for me to begin painting landscapes after receiving sixteen weeks of instruction in watercolour painting.
In all the circumstances of my life, I have developed a deep and abiding trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, and have come to know His provision, healing, strength, guidance and friendship. This has only been increased by some of the trials in my life, including the demise of my marriage. I have, in a sense, been set free to become the person and artist that I was created to be. Because of my experience of the love of Jesus, I want to become more like Him all the time. My desire is to let Him develop in me a servant's heart (where there is true freedom!), that He may be glorified in my life, and in my art.
I now live in Lively, Ontario, where I am actively enjoying involvment in my local church, and the local art club.
